Se investigarán recientes aplicaciones de la inteligencia artificial (IA) en la educación. Se pretende conocer y difundir los descubrimientos más innovadores en este área de conocimiento, que ha adquirido una notoriedad importante en los últimos años. Se hará un relevamiento de actuales usos en situaciones concretas de aprendizaje de los procedimientos y metodologías de aprendizaje automático, una rama de la IA. Se analizarán y evaluarán aplicaciones y metodologías para el aprendizaje que utilizan este tipo de recurso. Uno de los objetivos del proyecto es generar materiales de divulgación accesibles sobre la temática, para favorecer su difusión en el ámbito educativo. Se busca analizar de manera crítica, tanto posibilidades como limitaciones que la IA introduce en el campo educativo. Se espera lograr avances y conexiones entre los últimos desarrollos de la IA y las teorías del aprendizaje. Específicamente, se buscará evaluar el uso de aplicaciones en el aprendizaje de segundas lenguas y su relación con el aprendizaje estadístico. Se evaluarán, en este contexto, el impacto de dos modelos cognitivos de aprendizaje estadístico: 1) aquellos que refieren a procesos de adquisición incidental automático, que son el resultado de una recurrencia probabilística en el input; 2) aquellos que utilizan procesos guiados por retroalimentación (feed back) explícito. El objetivo es observar como ambos modelos cognitivos de aprendizaje estadístico impactan en el aprendizaje.
ABSTRACT:
The aim of this project is to investigate the impact of recent innovations in the field of education introduced by the use of applications in Artificial Intelligence (AI). One main objective in this exploratory project is to explore the current use of these applications in AI, assess the methodology involved in machine learning and shed some light into the possible applications of AI in the field of education. We intend to collect information on the different resources in AI available for learning and critically evaluate their usage and promote their usage in education outreach publications in the field of education. A second objective is to evaluate the connection between the latest development in AI and different cognitive approaches to learning. Specifically, we will analyze the deployment of applications for second language learning and statistical learning. We aim at assessing the impact of two cognitive models of statistical learning: 1) the model of incidental learning, a probabilistic model based on accidental rate of occurrence in the input, and 2) the rule-based learning model, guided by explicit learning feedback. The aim is to observe how each of these models can impact the learning process and which might prove more convenient for second language learning.
